Basic coverage does not apply in the following cases:

damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence;

driving off-road or on prohibited roads;

driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances;

the vehicle is driven by a person not listed in the rental agreement as an authorized driver;

the driver does not hold a valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category;

use of the vehicle in breach of the rental agreement or applicable laws;

participation in races or speed trials, or use of the vehicle for illegal activities;

misfuelling or other clearly improper use of the vehicle;

failure to report damage promptly to the rental company or police when a police report is required.

Coverage also excludes damage to tyres, wheels, windows, the roof, undercarriage, and interior, as well as lost or damaged keys. These exclusions should be stated explicitly in the rental terms.
